Lukewarm
Revelation 3:16 "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."
This verse is such an interesting verse........... It is Jesus speaking to the church of Laodiceans. He haid in verse 15 that he would rather them be cold or hot but because they are "lukewarm" he will VOMIT them out of his mouth.
The Laodicean church is the last church before Christ returns to call up his saints (the rapture - or to be caught up) to heaven with him. This also is the clock that starts the 7 year tribulation in Revelation.
So I ask you Christian......are you lukewarm?
When God comes into our lives, He changes us from the inside out. I was just reading in John 15:1-2 recently:
“I am the true vine, and my father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. “
I was just taken aback a bit when I realized He was talking about Christians. Was our family continuing to grow in the Lord and produce good fruit? Or were we just getting by……becoming complacent? Not really growing anymore because we already “knew” everything about God? Was I becoming self righteous? Free to go about my business because I was simply “saved by grace” once? I thought what a great reminder this passage is to Christians……..to me! We must grow. If we stop growing……we are dead. We can only grow if we are feeding on His word…….We are in the latter days now and Christ could call us up at any time. The question is ……… am I ready? Is there anything more important to me then God? Am “I” prepared to meet my maker? Are my children? God warns us that because we are “lukewarm” He will spue (vomit) us out of His mouth. May God spare me from ever being lukewarm……..may He just continue to prune and feed me…….
